someone just asked me how long chickens live. I honestly don’t know? I got 7 chicks (3 Easter Eggers & 4 Rhoda Island Reds) a year ago at Easter. It’s been the most fun I’ve ever had. I never thought I’d be a chickens boyfriend LOL I thought I’d be their Mama. Never the less, they LOVE me. Laid eggs for me all winter.

A chicken lifespan is roughly 8 years. High production hybrids don’t tend to live as long as purebreeds.

Thank you! What do you do with chickens when they stop laying? My brother doesn’t like eggs and jokes about eating them now. We grew hunt hunting with our Italian Dad.
