I'm really bummed I'm only allowed 4 chickens here and no roosters, is this enough to supply my family with eggs even?

If it were me I'd go ahead and have my little flock! While I live out in the country I only have 4 soon-to-be hens. The best advice I can give you is to do your research and choose a breed that is 'known' for good egg yield. Look at it this way, even if the 4 girls don't provide you with ALL the eggs you need, they'll be so much better than the store-bought ones, that's for sure!

Best of luck to you on your new venture!!

Yea!! I guess I'm still going to have my 4 but I'm so new to this I don't know what breeds are the best egg layers :) and I want colorful eggs :) I'm very excited about all the egg colors
