Yes, I worried that this may be the case. Should I just wait until they are her size to integrate even if she still seems obsessive? The 2 Brahmas will likely be her size by 12 weeks. They are pretty big now. The olive eggers probably not. She seems like a small for her breed my other australorp that the bear got was a decent amount bigger than her. Any chance that once they are bigger she will be less obsessed? Thanks I have no experience with this. These are my first birds. I appreciate your help!

I got 4 new pullets yesterday golden buffs, the older ladies aren’t too pleased we will see how it goes, I figure I’ll probably keep they in this set up for about 3 weeks or so then do an overnight roost invasion and see how the next morning goes

I’m following along. I got 2 8-10 week old pullets last weekend and have them confined to the run while the 2 big girls observe. There were words at first, but they pay no attention to each other now. I hope to integrate in 1-2 weeks (the weather’s been great). Can’t wait until they’re the same size undfortunately.

I’ll let you all know if it goes to Heck in a Handbasket.

Yes, I can put more things to distract and break up vision. They are definitely the main attraction right now with the space they take up. The bigger girls do free range but we are so predator heavy around here and there is only the two of them so I’ve been only doing supervised free ranging for about an hour a day lately. Losing so many birds at once has made me pretty skittish but I’d like to get them back out doing what they love. I’m sure it’s hard on them being in the run all day. Thank you for your input I really do appreciate the help!

I saved this post from a member, (and told her I'd be sharing it to which she approved ). This is more for entertainment but does the job of being clutter/distraction too. If you check out these pictures, it's crazy how awesome it is, but I'd think about 10% of that would be sufficient for you.

Wow! Thanks for passing that along. That is a pretty crazy set up! Lucky chickens. Heck, I’ll send my kids to play in there!

So far so good I’ve noticed the bigger girls are paying less attention each day to the younger ones on the other side of the chicken wire, the separation of the run if half chicken wire and the other half a pallet so sometimes I think the big ones forget the little ones are even there… the golden buffs decided they wanted a high roost at night…

Happy to hear it’s going well for you! My big girl is still pretty interested. I put some temporary clutter up while I get my hands on some more permanent solutions. When they are out of sight she’s good but she still shows a lot of interest when they are in view. Although I have not seen he pluck any feathers recently so maybe some improvement!
