Here are my button quail that I hatched 4 wks ago. I'm still unsure of colors maybe y'all can help. Also I know the tan and red banded ones are male due to the red feathers around vent. Still not sure on the others. No one else has red around the vent but not sure if it's due to the lightness of the color. The two whitest ones are the hardest to figure out.

Great photo's. Thanks for posting.

It is still a bit early to get the colors, I usually wait until they are 6-8 weeks at the youngest. but here are my guesses:
1) hen red breasted
2) cock Blue breasted
3) ?sex white possible pied or tux?
4) hen cinnamon splash
5) hen cinnamon splash
6) hen? Blue faced?
7) cock cinnamon splash or regular cinnamon
8) cock blue faced silver?

don't know if this helps at all but they look healthy! good luck!

Thank you GrandmaBird!!! I knew it was still a tad early to sex for sure but at least I have a better idea. I knew the white/tux ones are a guessing game. When do they normally go thru their last molt to where they have adult plumage? This is my first batch so I'm learning as I go. Sure wish someone warned me how quick these little boogers are should of seen me chase the white one today. I felt like I was in a tom and jerry cartoon. lol Thanks again for your input. :)

I had a two day old escape from the parents enclosure thru the bars! It scared the bejeebies out of me as the cage is on a 3 foot high table and he jumped to the ground! I finally caught him as he went into the dark of the bathroom. I hurried and shut the door and dropped a cloth on him while shutting the lid on the toilet. It must have looked like I joined the circus or something! anyway both he and I and his mom, who was calling as loud as she could with him answering, were glad to get him back in the cage! lol
The little ones can even escape from the incubator, something to think about when removing them the first time! lol I have had that happen too.

As for the colors they should get the adult feathers at 7-8 weeks and once the feathers are covering the heads they will be easier to sex. You might have to go by actions on the silver/white ones though. Nice birds and have fun!
