could one of my Barred rocks be a cuckoo marans?

my barred rocks and sex links lay eggs that dark and sometimes darker.

but nice looking eggs

I'm gonna guess it was the Cuckoo Marans girl. Unless you have really good breeder stock, they generally do not lay super-dark (like the charts say) but they are darker than Barred Rocks.

Pretty egg, not quite "chocolate," but pretty.

Actually your Barred Rocks are likely still Barred Rocks. A lot of hatchery ones lay pretty dark brown of eggs compared to the normal brown.

Check your hen's leg color. If any have pink/white legs instead of yellow, you've got Cuckoo Marans.

Well my BR girl came from Ideal hatchery, and she lays an almost pink egg. Lighter than my BO's eggs.
But anyway, ditto on the leg color.

I don't care if she is a dark egg laying BR or a light egg laying Marans, but the eggs are pretty.
I have had 12 BRs and this is the darkest egg that I have gotten from a BR.
If she is a Marans she is defiantly low quality because she has yellow legs, and Mypetchickens chickens are not SQ so it wouldn't surprise me if she is a Marans with yellow legs, and light eggs.

My friend has a Cuckoo Marans from Ideal and the eggs are light brown with dark brown speckles.
