Look out he bites

As a former letter carrier I am sick of stupid dog owners and their attitudes. It's exactly why I don't have one. Well not yet. I want a Corgi or two. I'm glad for you .

All the best

I had a dog that had some head trama. We never did find the person responsible. Had him out in the yard and I had to go get the ball I was tossing around for him. (went into the high hedge we had over behind the house. Came back out to find my dog laying on his side and not looking right. Got him to the vet, who said somebody hit him hard with something. I was not out of sight of him but maybe 3 minutes. In that time somebody smashed my dog in the head with something.

He only went after males on the BMX style bikes. My dog got loose one day. Ran straight for the kid next door who was on a BMX bike at the time. The dog was baring teeth. I am chasing the dog and thinking I am gonna have to put him down now. The neighbor's kid Jumped off his bike. The weirdest thing happened. My dog went from a snarling gonna rip this thing apart to laying down rolling over wanting a belly rub that fast.

Hmmmmmmmm....... Think the person that injured him was male and on a BMX style bike? My point is not all "bad dogs" are the fault of bad owners. We kept him on a lead when ever he was not in the house. We never opened our windows (had to run the AC) and if we had to go out we had to put him in the basement. He loved people, just if you were male and on a BMX style bike he wanted blood.

Nice job for protecting your kids and your poultry! Reading your post made me shiver. I was in 4th grade when I was attacked by a dog. My parents found out I wasn't the first person it had attacked. The owners were warned by military police (lived on an Army base), if it attacked again, they would confiscated the dog & be put to sleep. Needless to say I was the last person and a child that dog ever attacked. It is the owners responsibility to take care of their dogs. Sadly, some owners are irresponsible and someone gets hurt or killed.

One of my female dogs is afraid of Dollys. Those red, lifty draggy pully things.
Terrified to the point she will attack it. And the bag of sand in it.

Won't go near the human but dear lord don't get the Dolly out, she'll pee on the carpet.

Im really happy that you had a gun and protected your granddaughters. even the 9 year old could have been killed, let alone the baby. I would have done the same exact thing if I had been in your shoes and slept like a baby that night.

Very frightening. Sorry that your grandkids had to see that, but glad that no one got hurt.

My little brother is a mail man - in the military reserves (so he's not timid by any means).
He can share some very frightening stories about dogs....
