Great find! I have one with a flat top. Has some letters and numbers on the side. I just left mine alone. I have my extra blankets in it.
Keep us updated on the resto

I also oil mine. Has helped with dryness and made it darker

I saw one similar also from an ebay link, was restored tho...and sold for just under $3,000! I am sure it was in better condition to start with or something.

I think any antique has possiblity of great value. And a family heirloom like that would be priceless! But yes, I would do some real research before i let something like that go. Assorted sizes! Awesome. Please post pics would love to see them. Would be great to keep them in the family. Especially if someone enjoys them as much as I do!
