I'm having trouble maintain the heat in the hatcher drawer. I may have to go back and double the plexiglass. I feel the heat from it. May do it anyway!

Yes, I always double-pane the glass. It makes all the difference!!

Great job!! I may be starting a new project!! Sorry hubby...can't cook...gotta make a cabinet!!

The temps actually steadied out after about the 3rd day. But I am still going to double plexiglas it this evening. I have some hatching eggs that will come out of the turner this coming weekend.

Real glass has better insulation properties than the plexiglass. You might want to consider just swapping out the plastic for real glass.

i thought about that but I plan to move it out of the house into a yard barn when not in use. I thought the plexiglas would hold up better. And I have two grandson's that live with us 7 and 2. Thought is may be safer.

Well, on Friday I moved 18 Silkie eggs from the incubator to the hatcher drawer. The temp is a steady 100 degrees and the humidity is a steady 60%. Today I have pipping on 16 eggs. A few are starting to zip. So by morning I should have some chickes. Looks like it gonna work.

I did cover the bottom with "drawer" liner, that none slip stuff for easy clean up. I haven't made the metal liner yet. Dragging my feet
