After killing 2 of my meat chickens last night, this Great Horned Owl tried to squeeze through the electric poultry fence and became seriously tangled. I had to call a wildlife rehab person to come and cut him out of my fence, argh!. He has gone to live in another county and hopefully we'll never see him again. He was beautiful, if he wasn't so destructive I wouldn't have minded having him around.

This is the same owl that I saw close by the chicken and guineas and feather all around from an attack. Next morning one severed section of a pearl guinea found with more larger feathers. I am alert to closing in the chickens and no loss there so far.

Wow, what a beautiful bird! Was he injured? I would be worried about it finding its way back... they can fly a long way, and have a pretty good homing instinct...
