Thought my girls were slowing down for the winter, in 4 days, we were getting 3 - 4 eggs. Hubby told them they were being slackers!
Near our fence, we have a large trash can on it's side. I have looked in there from time to time, to find a hen, but no eggs.
I have my children check under the stairs that lead off the deck to see if there are any eggs. Nope!
I am out today, giving out alfalfa, and getting 1 egg out of the nest box. I hear a egg song near the deck. I go over & Goldie is clucking away, so I tell her, the nest boxes are clear, go lay your egg. But I also hear noise coming from the trash can, I look in and there sitting on a stash of 19 eggs is Sweet Pea one of my EE.
Yesterday I thought I got my first Blue Egg, but if you look to the back of this pile, there is a blue egg.
I know all the eggs are fine, since it has not gotten above 55 for day time temps. It just cracked me up to look in and see this pile of multi colored eggs sitting in a nest of leaves.
