Look what I collected from my BEI's today. The first egg is from one of two females I have that will be two yrs. this spring. They started up laying a few weeks ago. I have some of their eggs in the bator right now. The marbled egg is from another BEI I hatched last year, her first egg. The one in the middle, I thought was it was a pile of poop at first. I have had chickens lay really small eggs on their first few, but not my ducks. I wanted to make sure, Is this normal for a duck's first egg?

My pekin just started laying a couple days ago, yesterday she laid two very small eggs like the one in your picture, one was half the size of a chickens egg. And the other was the size of a marble. She was feeling a little off but now she's better today, good luck with your ducks!

I got several tiny eggs when my ducks first started laying. I cracked a couple of them and one had a small yolk and proportional white, and the other was all white. That marbled egg is beautiful!

My new female runner started laying yesterday and I got a marble sized egg, and another one again today. They were soooo tiny. My others gave me small eggs when they first started too. I took them to school and showed my students.. they thought they were pretty cute. I like the marbled one too... pretty cool looking.

Good thing they don't all lay marbled eggs like that one...no one would color eggs for Easter then!

Who'd want to mess up that gorgeous color?

Our pekings were laying straight on and then stopped today....must be the snow, or maybe I cannot find the egg....Cute little marble egg! You sure it's not another kind of bird????
