My 2016 hens started molting in October. Then we added 4 new girls hatched in spring. So between molting, stress of new birds, and shorter days, eggs production nearly stopped. Two newbies started laying, and my White Rock started again, so I was getting 1-3 eggs daily out of 11 hens! Then my White Rock got very sporadic, I thought she was shutting off... but looked what I happened upon!

Looks like my Crazy bird found a new place! For weeks I've been searching all around our 2 acres since we started free ranging them dawn to dusk after integrating the new birds to the coop. We used to only free range in afternoons and all day on weekends. So I was worried they were laying elsewhere. Guess Crazy was!

My
Those eggs look like pearl !
Mom thought they looked silver and gold! Crazy is my only white egg layer, so 6 of them are hers. I think the brown egg was laid there just today, someone else found her nesting spot! Glad I found them before anyone want broody... although we haven't had a roo here since end of September/beginning of October.

One of my white crested black polish did that on 10 acers a couple of times, had to get the flashlight and walk all of it to find here. Then one night I couldn't find her and she was out all night by herself came back next morning and didn't leave the coop for 3 days. Thought she learned but then again did same thing and we searched until 2am couldn't find here and she never came home. Sad she was one of my customer greeters too...
