And, good luck with the land! Your little place was sooo cute - and such a nice habitat for your ducks I can't imagine what you and your hubby will do with acres - it will eventually be LOVELY, I have no doubt! Does the property have a pond?

Your duck addition makes me feel much better (less guilty?). I'm off to Holderread's next Tuesday to add to my little flock. My numbers will be up to 11 ducks (and 11 chickens) and I was worried about getting in over my head (and we have 2 1/2 acres). Emptying and refilling those darn plastic wading pools is getting old though - are your filtered ponds working pretty reliably?

I hate to admit it, but my little flock is much quieter since you took on Joey and Gracie (hope they aren't your only verbal offenders).

Beautiful new ducks! I need to buy some more land too! I only have 1.5 acres and it's quickly becoming overrun! Ducks, Geese, Chickens, Turkeys, Rabbits, Pigs, Bees, A cat, a dog, and a garden!
Hmmmmm....... Now where to put the goats?

no the property doesnt have a pond

but my hubby will just bring home the back hoe from work and dig 1

we did have a small issue with the pond. we pluged in the pump and 5 or so of the ducks where in it having fun. all of a sudden 1 of the ducks jumps out of the water quacking like she had got bit. so i sat there watching and then another duck jumped out quackin and i was thinking who is being so grumpy? is it cause the heat?
well i happend again to another duck and there was no other ducks close to her. so my hubby said he thought that the seal on the pump must have broke. so i stuck my arm in the pond and sure enough there was a electric currant making my arm tingle and i bet if i would have left my arm in there longer it would have made me jump like i got bit also

but all the ducks are fine and that prob. is now fixed! lol

gracie is trying like mad to be a good mama and joey is trying like mad to be a papa! we love having them
