In the January egg swap, quail eggs. My first use of my new Hova-Bator. I going to set them in the morning could use any advice on quail eggs.

Are quails similar in needs of care as chickens?
 
they take 15-18 days to hatch (most hatch on 18th day but some are always lucky and get them to hatch on the 16th day).

Many people who incubate these will give you different temps and humidity levels.

I personally incubate as close to 99.5 as i can for them (but i have a mean incubator hahaha), I keep the humidity at 40, until the last 4 days then i stop turning and up the humidity to atleast 60 but no higher than 70.


ShelleyD has a good temp and humidty thing she uses that works well.

turn 3 times a day (if you dont have a turner).


The mature in 6-8 weeks and if you have them under atleast 14 hours of light they will start laying around then too.

They are fully grown at 12 weeks from my experience.
