Doing my usual morning thing....cleaning up the kitchen after the mad dash of breakfast and kids. I heard a chicken start to sing. Yeah, she musta smelled the leftover biscuits or something

and walked right through the back door.
My little "ugly girl"....she's about 7 weeks old now give or take a few days.
Of course I don't think she's ugly but that's what my hubs calls her (as he spoils her with the leftover biscuits)

I've had both chickens and goats make their way throught he front door.... my two year old doesn't realize she has to close the door quickly when they start coming towards her.... she jus moves out of their way!

Had a goat that was a frequent vistor in the house. She would climb the fence, go sit on the front porch and knock periodically by rapping her head against the door... never hard, just enough to make noise. She'd sit there as long as it took to get someone to answer! The only way she'd go back to her pen was for you to let her walk through the house looking in all the rooms. Then she'd go back to her pen and be content for 5 or 6 days... the neighbors thought it was hysterical!

I love all the stories! My chicks like to follow my mini poodle, Mack, around (they have seen his face more than anything since we got them! nosy dog!). I suppose they think that it's ok to come in with him!

This is what he did for at least a week straight when we first got them....SO CUTE!

my chicks like my poodle too... not so much the dane or italian gry hound though.. guesse they move to fast and can be a bit scarry for them. but yup love the silver poodle.

If they only knew Great Danes were about the safest breed they could walk around with. Danes will take mothership of any animal or kid around. I think I was half raised by the pair we had when I was a kid. They would lay in my doorway and not allow anyone but my parents to come into my room. If I layed in my crib and so much as moved they would run down and get my mother. I have had at least one my whole life. truely great dogs.
