DH found this laying eggs in the front yard while he was out mowing. Its a western painted turtle and after research the eggs should hatch in about 72-80 days depending on temps. Gonna keep an eye on it.

And my son and DH found kittens in our barn, 3 calicos. We do not have any outside cats but we had been seeing a cat around every now and again she is quite feral. Apparently she has adopted us. I will post pics of them tomorrow. Their eyes are open and all 3 look really healthy

Last weekend we went to the lake and these are some pics we took there.

And a different one.

Then we went to cook dinner on the grill, pulled the cover off and found this

Wow, you've got a lot of nature in your yard! Neat!

Well if DH was awake I'd ask but for the life of me I can't remember

They are small brown birds and there were two flying in and out. Six eggs total in the nest so I figured two were sitting on the same nest.

She mossied (sp?) on up the road. I tried to convince DH that it was a sign that I need to get a cow or a goat next but it didn't work.

Wow, So cool to get to see a turtle laying eggs. In our previous house, we had a small pond. We always knew when frogs were laying eggs in it, because they would be croaking loudly. Shortly, we would have tadpoles.
