Hi,
This is my first post, so I'll try to include everything.
I have 12 pullets (8 to 12 weeks, various breeds).
Yesterday afternoon, one of my barred rocks (10 weeks or so) wasn't right. She's my tamest , and favorite, bird, always wants to be held, perches on us, sleeps while we hold her. I looked up her symptoms: lethargy, sleepy, watery but not bloody stool, unsociable and it sounded like coccidiosis. I called Peter brown and got advice from him and started her on corid and yogurt . They had been getting acv in their water, but I stopped because I didn't want to mix it with the corid. I checked on her every couple of hours during the night. She seemed to almost be herself by early morning, even her stool was solid. I doubt she got much of the meds that soon. She is eating and drinking.
My question is, does this sound normal? And now I'm worried that she's always been a little sick and maybe that's why she's so docile. Its hard to tell if she's too thin because she's small snd feels like the others her size. She's never been as active as the others. Preferring to sit with me. My plan is to continue the corid just in case, continue feeding medicated grower, fresh greens and yogurt. After 5 days, I will add vitamins to their feed and go back to acv.
Oh yes, her comb is just appearing and is light pink, but about the same as the other more active barred rock.
Anyone have any thoughts?
