Looking for a book on the topic of teaching horseback riding lessons

That would be great. With all the comments from you guys I am definitely going to have them sign a waiver and get insurance. She is also wearing a helmet and a boot with a heel.

First of all, Thanks for all of your opinion about the snaffle/cub/lunging stuff. That's really helped me out.

So if I go with a snaffle, would I teach her to direct rein or to neck rein? I've worked with him for a long time and he is a great neck reiner now. Will neck reining in a snaffle mess him up? Will direct reining in a snaffle mess him up?

Got to go, finish later

With my horse I do both. I ride in a D-ring snaffle and when I compete, I usually start off direct reining as she's usually fired up and I want more contact in case she starts fighting to be in front or bucking because another horse is crowding her. Once we settle into a good pace, I usually loosen the reins and neck rein.

Most horses can go back and forth easily so long as they are well-trained in both
