I remember a ways back seeing some chickens of someone's on here and I was thinking they said they were Chequers ( spelling ).

I was at auction this weekend and feel in love with a batch of girls and they looked like what I remembered the photos looking like!

I wouldn't call them a mottled per se, but black and white feathers, larger, clean legged, and rosecombed. Any ideas?

Exchequer Leghorn. They're not rosecombed, but singled combed - But I'm pretty sure that is what you mean.

They are mottle, which is black and white, and slightly rare, but people do have them. They're quite the egg layers, too.

The exchequers are what I was thinking! Hmmm... wonder what they are. My camera isn't home right now but will take some photos when I get it back!

They look almost exactly like an exchequer ( same body style and tail etc) only rose combed... hmmmm I bought 7 of them in one crate but they all appear to be hens.. so if I figure out what they are I'll have to figure out what kind of roo to get for them ( although I'm hoping there is one and I just didn't look good enough, lol )

Darn the camera not being home! ( Like it went out for a drive on it's own, lol )

Thanks everyone for helping me figure that much out! I'll post pics as soon as I can. I think they look polka dotted!

Silver Spangled Hamburg? They're rosecombed with black spots on a white body. Look it up on Google, and you'll see some examples.
