Looking for a Chesapeake Bay Retriever Pup....Any Breeders?

Hey guys.....My DH is actively looking for a Chesapeake Bay Retriever puppy. There are very few breeders anywhere close to me on the east coast. I'm kinda leary of having a pup shipped to us. Do any of you know any breeders on the east coast. We live in the mountains of western NC right on the Tennessee line. DH said that he is willing to drive up to 5 hrs or so to get one if we can find one. Thanks,

try with the chesapeake bay retriever club of america. Also, unless you have experience with the breed, be careful and find yourself a very good breeder. I am a groomer and these dogs can get very nasty. Every one that we have come in our shop needs to be muzzled for some part of the groom. We also had one growing up and she was very sketchy...

I don't know if you found a puppy or not, but I had one shipped to Colorado from Minnesota, and it was a positive experience. She is my fourth Chessie, and I love the breed!! Here she is sleeping and with our male, Grimmy.

Thanks for your reply. Your Chessie is beautiful!! My husband actually found one a couple of weeks ago. We found a breeder about 2 hrs away so we were able to drive and pick him up. I'll try to get some pics up here this week.
