You might give petfinder.com a try. You can put in your zip, what kind of animal you're looking for, general age, etc. and it shows results of lots of local shelters and organizations trying to place them. Wish you were in this area. My mom works with a feral spay/neuter organization and is always trying to place kittens...lol. Good luck with your search, and sorry about the loss of your own cat.

Oh yeah Craigslist and Petfinder. I always see ads on craigslist for free cats and kittens. I'm not in the market for a new kitty. Just got one about a month ago. But, I like to look. And my bf is always on the lookout for a scott's american bulldog puppy.

i am keeping my eyes on craigslist and pet finder.

this area is notorious for shelter issues too

i got turned down for 1 kitten at my closest shelter, because i have 2 dogs...
my dogs are 6 and 10lbs and LOVE cats, theyve lived with cats since they were puppies...
but the sheter ddint even offer to cat test them just told me "we cant adopt to someone with more than one dog"

how stupid is that

take a look in the newspaper advertisements -- our paper often has 'kittens/cats needing homes' --- I wish I could take them all --
if you are near a TS or other feed store, post a 'wanted' flier -- put a notice on the bulletin board at your grocery store --
there are kitties out there who need you!
