Question about pups having diarrhea.

What could be causing this?

They have had it a week or a little more....it is pudding thick not real watery but it is a mess with all them.

They are now 6 weeks old.

It says there is several different causes.

I am wondering on the feeding how much should they be getting in puppy food per puppy?

I have been feeding them 3 times a day and they eat it all. I wonder if I am feeding enough but they dont look skinny.

I wonder if I am feeding too much? It says that can be a cause of the pudding diarrhea on line...along with other things.

Did they get wormed? Or still to young?

If they have been outdoors at all I would assume coccidia and treat them all for that. If you have not dewormed recently I would do that too.

Not been outside on ground at all yet...not even at our house.

I did worm and first shots today.

I hope that worming helps....I also gave a little pure pumpkin on their food this afternoon. I heard that would help firm up stool.

I would suggest collecting a sample and dropping it off at your vet's office to have it tested to see what exactly it is you're dealing with.

Well not much change from the worming so I have changed their food and seems to be helping firm up their stool in just a feeding or 2. I am making their food for them.

I gave them last night brown rice, chicken broth, and chicken hearts and gizzards (if I remember right). Same with this morning but I put in some egg and pumpkin puree.

If this works it is the way I will continue with them....more work cooking but less work cleaning poo up and making a mess out of my living room.

I think they will feel better too. I am thinking maybe the diamond large breed puppy with lamb and rice is just too rich for them. I wish I could fine the chicken in rice in puppy

I will look at other foods soon today.

My questions are now....what else can or should I give them.

Also how much per puppy per feeding? I have been doing like 1/2 a cup.

Puppies this age I feed all they want, or all they will consume at a feeding. Continued diarrhea/loose stool is cause for concern, so if it does continue, talk to your vet.
