I'm looking to get some ranger chicks around mid July, but can't find many hatcheries with rangers available. Does anyone know any hatcheries with rangers available in July? I have checked most major hatcheries but don't know many smaller hatcheries that might have a focus on meat birds. Thanks in advance for your help.

There's the Freedom Ranger hatchery in Pennsylvania, with excellent birds. Also Eagle's Nest in Ohio, a smaller hatchery.
You might do well to shop the feed stores if any have rangers available. Also maybe MurrayMcMurray?
July is a tough time to have birds shipped, because of the heat, and also even the rangers may struggle in August out there. Try to find some for August delivery instead?

Freedom Ranger hatchery was my first choice to order from, but they are sold out for a while. Looked at Eagles Nest and they might have some chicks available. Do you know if their super roaster chicken or the white mountain broiler are similar to rangers?
I didn't think July heat would be an issue. Where I am, even in summer the temp is around 70-80 degrees. We almost never get into the high 80s or 90s.

Hey! There’s a farm up here in Bellingham that does heritage meat birds if you can’t find any shipped. I just ordered some for late July.

edit: it looks like they do ship actually!
Something interesting on that site is called a Le Grand. It was developed from Black Copper Marans but is huge!

They're Lamborghinis right now like Ayam Cemanis were 5 years ago.

Hopefully these Le Grands will be less expensive as their population grows.

They have Ixworth more reasonably but are out of stock at the moment.

They told me the next major hatch is due after July 27. Maybe they’ll restock!

Edit: oh jeezy I just saw the price of that set. Whew! Maybe they figure you’ll sell down the line?

https://www.purelypoultry.com/red-ranger-broilers-p-1309.html I have been keeping an eye on places that still have Red Rangers. They are not a meat bird hatchery but they offer them. Likely some other place hatches and sells them and Purely Poultry just markets them on their website. Thats what I assume for any bird that has a 25 bird minimum of that specific breed.

Moyers has their own line of meat birds not called rangers but people like them the same way they like rangers. It doesn't hurt to check that site.
