She is in Nor Cal, and her name is Laurie K or something like that. I have typed it every way I could, upper case, lower case, and if I don't get it right, I get zero results. Is there any way to make username search include, "closest match"? Thanks, not griping. Need to tell her some good news!

Have you browsed the N. CA threads in the Where am I Where are you section?

you could try just browsing by the state and search thru the members in that state alone
