For fresh salsa I start with a blender. Then I toss in:
tomatoes (quartered)
onion (usually half a purple or yellow)
green onion (1 whole cut into pieces)
cillantro
jalapeno (2 whole, cut into halves)
spices (cumin, salt and lemon juice)
garlic (2 cloves)
Sometimes I add bell pepper depending on whats available in the garden. Sometimes I get low on tomatoes and add a can of my canned whole tomatoes.
Then blend it up, but not to long cause I like some chunks. You really cannot mess up salsa.
