Looking For A Sturdy Coop

I looked at some garden sheds and there seems to be some hopeful ideas. However, I only saw one door on them and that would have to lead out to the run. I wish there were some with more windows in them. I will have to look into this more. Thanks for the suggestion.

Yes, they are short on windows but you can always cut more windows into one. And you can face the man door away from the run and cut a pop door for chicken access on the run side.

Carolina coops are pricey indeed. I put in a request for price for a 4 x 10 henhouse with all the options and this is what I came up with...

@cavemanrich I had an idea while HE and I were projecting cost of our coop and run currently under construction: let's buy a house and use that as our chicken coop! Like you, we found a couple nearish that would probably be cheaper than our coop!

HE said no. Oh well, I don't want the hens playing computer games or surfing the web when they should be working.

Don't overlook the 3 most important things.. Location, location and location... ... In your area, they price/sell property by the square inch.

We actually found a shed on Craigslist very cheap. Then for a small cost of some supplies we converted it into a chicken coop.

You ain't lying! We just bought our house two years ago... I miss living out west. In the Spokane area of Washington could have spent the same on my house and had three times the land.
