That's awesome we have one EE hen that is one of his favorites he calls her Fritz because she never walks anywhere just runs then stops and snacks. Very sweet girl, just on the fritz lol. Let me know how much for a few and I can do PayPal or Venmo.

Does he know that it will be very tough to take care of the chicks that hatch? They are very messy.

He has quite a few chickens of his own and is very good at taking care of his animals. He even managed to raise quail, guineas and some phesants, those were a big handful lol

Wishing him well and a smooth recovery. Try your local feed store too. We have amazing staff there that help with so much. I made great connections with folks over the years.
Another idea is fostering and indoor animal. Lots of folks have gotten in over their heads with hamsters, rabbits, cats and guinea pigs in covid times that now are looming to rehome them. Just an idea.

I love this idea! If it is possible, you could get a foster animal for him to care for and entertain himself with, along with hatching chicks. Of course don't do that if you think it might overwhelm him or you. Anyways, here are some more virtual hugs for your family

Update on my son, he is off the ventilator and making small but steady progress. I was able to purchase, Liege's, he loves his rooster and I'm hoping to hatch some girlfriends. Svart Honas, CLB, FBCM, Icelandics, and a rare breed surprise assortment for fun. I think he will enjoy have some new feathered friends. Thank you all for the kind words. I will try to keep everyone posted on our progress with chicks and our boy
