Hey everyone,

Having a hard time finding a walk-in coop plan approx 10x10 or larger , there’s no websites with actual plans just pictures .
Be nice to have something to sort of follow along
Thanks in advance !!

We are building a Woods style coop based on this book - https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=coo.31924003138272;view=1up;seq=1

Plans start on page 41 do read the whole book if you decide on this type so you understand the theory (Plans are for a very light build - my husband is making ours heavier)

We are making it 8 x 16 instead of 10 x 16 (less cuts/work with lumber!) JackE and others have great threads on this: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/woods-style-house-in-the-winter.445004/

Here: Go to the Home Depot website and find a shed you like. Here's a 10x10. There are a bunch of different ones- just search "wood shed" and find one you like.

Towards the bottom of the description is a link for the instructions/assembly. They give the dimensions for each piece and step by step directions from the ground up. If you can cut some plywood and 2x4's (or 2x3's) - you can follow along and have a nice start.

If you can't locate it on the Home Depot website on each shed's description page, just google "handy home shed princeton (or whatever design you like) assembly instructions" and it will take you to the manufacturer's website.

Or- you can just buy the kit and bulk it up with additional floor joists and so on to your liking, build interior walls with plywood and sheets of FRP (which makes cleaning the inevitable pooped on walls VERY easy and keeps the stench off the wood components:

....and then do the fun stuff like the nest boxes and roosting tables based on other things you see. We built our first building (a goat shed) that way- then the next two we kept the directions handy and did it all ourselves, having gained some valuable experience.

Here's the assembly directions for that 10x10 linked above. Many plans to choose from- for free- with great instructions.

I ended up purchasing an 8x10 for my chickens from the Amish.
They do good work and whatever size you want. I then modified it to my liking.
Windows, venting (w/screen), run door and a secure entrance.
The design has 6'6" side walls w/gable vents(minimum). I have a larger vent on one side, and a opening window on the other(all covered w/screen).

You'd be better off looking for plans for a shed.
Might need to modify some things like large roof overhangs with open soffits and
more windows...then add in the chicken stuff roost, nests, pop door, etc.
Here's some tips for heights:
