Looking for advice on my city's response to ordinance change.

Check and see if Florida has a Right to Farm Act. I believe that every state has one, it just depends how specific or vague it is. In California, the Right to Farm Act supercedes a city ordinance. And as long as I have the support of my neighbors, I am planning to use that as a defense. Look into yours.....if you just make the rounds and get the ok from your neighbors, and there are no problems, and you don't get reported to animal control/services, you may be alright....GOOD LUCK!

Check out the page I just started: https://www.backyardchickens.com/web/viewblog.php?id=64541-changing-local-chicken-law

I live in Melbourne, FL- Suntree/Viera area and am hoping to do a 4-H Poultry Club project with my kids. We have to raise 6 chicks and "show" the chickens in April. Does anybody know how I find out if we're allowed. I want to do it legally!
