Looking for basic peafowl info

We don’t hatch them. Consumption only right now. I’ll have to see if dewormer WO egg with draw time. Just still worried about my roosters reaction to another male so maybe just hens for now if I do.

Regarding the rooster, that interaction will probably only happen once. Both of my roosters "challenged" the peacock, only to learn that size does matter. No injuries, just their pride, I guess. Now they give him plenty of space. And the peacock is fine with the hens, as long as they aren't trying to get his food! It's funny to see him show off his beautiful tail to the hens in springtime, like he thinks he's going to get a hen girl-friend!

I'm new to peafowl. I keep mine separate from the hens. I also have pheasant netting over their runs because otherwise I fear they would be up at the top of one of the trees and out of reach rather quickly. My 3 only go into their house if it rains, they do not roost like chickens unfortunately. They seem, unlike other birds and animals, to pounce on any unusual food in preference to the familiar. I suppose they might look a bit threatening to a small child but ours just step calmly away if we approach them. That is about all I have found out in my short spell of ownership.
