I'm in search of large fowl blue salmon faverolles.

I'm in Missouri about an hour southwest of Saint Louis, not far off of 1-44.

Please let me know if you know of a breeder that has this variety or if you have blue salmon favs yourself. I'm willing to travel a bit, if need be.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for drawing my attention to that. I didn't realize the link I sent you was so old.
I'm updating my favorites. Thanks again.

Are you near Sullivan?

Cool. I love that part of the state and south of there.

I've floated most of the rivers between I-55 and Springfield and from the Arkansas border to and including the Missouri river. Plus a few in Arkansas and in the Southwest corner of the state. a bunch of them many times.

That sounds like fun. I've only been on a handful of different rivers, but I've spent a lot of time on the upper Meramec near me. We just bought a couple of kayaks this summer as they handle the low water stretches above Maramec Spring better... but we have a couple of old 17' Grumman canoes from the late 60s to early 70s that we used to take... and probably still will get out once in a while in the future.

I was wondering about your "handle" ... thinking surely no one takes their chickens on a float trip with them. ;)

Close. I had been working in KC and when I left my job I competed in the Missouri 340 (world's longest non-stop canoe race) from KC, KS to St. Charles, MO.
Shortly thereafter, I built a chicken tractor. So another form of conveyance came to mind when I had to create a handle.
I tend to gravitate to the highest portions of rivers (like the upper Meramec). I've never been a big river person so I'm surprised I even did the MO 340.
Most of my trips are 5-20 miles but I've done some longer ones.
I once floated 98 miles on the Current from Tan Vat (just below Montauk state park) to Hickory Landing, 8 miles below Big Spring in late November. I only saw one other boat the entire trip.
Another long one was all 3 sections of the Buffalo River in Arkansas plus another 10 miles on the White River. I did that one with my family and by the time we got to the White, my family was done. They made me drop them off on a gravel road on the side of the river and I had to drive back up and find them.
