You could buy 1/2-1" pvc/metal pipe and build up the opening section as hoop coop configuration. And then cover with chicken wire or anti bird net.

Why not just frame in the open end of the carport? They'd lose some run area, but 360 sq ft (the area of the carport) is plenty for 20 chickens.

You can get heavy duty aviary netting on amazon. It lasts forever and keeps hawks and owls out and chickens in. Attach it to your fence with zip ties and use long poles to lift it up in the center.

I got my protection netting cheaper strait from pinnon hatch farms. Polypropylene is the way to go not nylon. They sell heavy gage monofilament to tie it up. Are you looking to cover to keep hawks out or just raise the sides to keep them from flying out?
