Looking for Chickens in Michigan

Anyone in Michigan looking to get rid of some chickens? (hopefully in the Thumb area)

I'm anxious to add to my flock, preferably some grown hens.

I know a guy that lives in Columbiaville that always has chicks and laying hens available. He is north of Lapeer. If you are interested I can give you his number, and maybe even meet you out there. He also sells ducks, turkeys, feed, etc.

That would be great! Does he sell hens that are already laying?

Yes, I think he usually charges 5 or 6 bucks for a laying hen. My buddy bought a white leghorn and has gotten at least an egg a day sometimes two. Shoot me an email and I'll give you his info.

Hey Derek... I think I found who you were talking about. I found an ad in the County Press for "laying hens, geese, ducks, peacocks & young pullets, fresh eggs. We buy most unwanted birds."

Actually, now that I've been researching how to integrate new birds into the flock, I don't think I'm ready for it quite yet. Lots of prep work to do!
