Looking for chicks!

Looking for chicks that have hatched recently or are scheduled to hatch the weekend of March 24th. We have been wanting to get chickens purely for eggs and my youngest son's obsession with animals. I'm new to chickens, and am open to anything. I would appreciate suggestions from anyone that might have an opinion on breeds. I was thinking 5 chicks and am looking for somewhere close to Palermo (Augusta/Waterville/Belfast). Thanks for any help

Do you have a feed store or farm supply in your area? I'd call those and see if any of them have, or will have, chicks.

You may just find that. Have you tried your state's thread in the Where am I? Where are you! forum? Or you could try Craigslist. It's hit and miss there, but you can often find someone.
