Looking for ducklings

Hi I'm from Cortland NY and I'm looking to raise some ducks but the Tractor Supply here wants a ridiculous price for what they have, is there anyone around local or that you know of that has ofordable ducklings, I'd really like some blue ones or call ducks please help

Hi! You should come to the NY Chicken Lover thread, there are some of us near you and I think some up there also raise ducks. You might be able to get some ducklings from them.

Be aware however that nice ducklings from breeders are apt to cost more than the ones in TSC do because they are nicer quality and true to breed.

What do you consider a ridiculous price? I paid over $70 for four sexed ducklings from Metzer a month ago, and I consider that reasonable.

Well they want 5.00 for there ducks and all I have to pick from are ruins and khakis I wouldn't mind paying that for some I would enjoy raising

I would definitely post in that thread I linked you to then. I believe there is someone in your area that raises blue magpies. Could be wrong, but I think she's up your way.

$5.00 is a very reasonable price, you're probably not going to find them any cheaper anywhere else.

And Khakis are awesome.

We are also having a big meet up at the end of May so if you are able to make it to that, you could ask anyone in the thread to bring ducklings. People come from up to four hours away so it's a good chance to get things that aren't local to you.
