Looking for egglaying chicken breed: Help me make a choice please!

Thanks a lot.

I'm going to keep those breeds in mind, and I'll see what I can get here in Quebec.

They all seems so awesome! :D
Yup =)

Oh from what I know Silkies aren't the best egg layers and lay small eggs. Most of them go broody a lot.

Yes, silkies are removed from the choices :P

Even if I'm not 100% sure about wich one is the best, since everyone has differents opinion, I'm still happy since all the breed I like are good choices.

If I could, I would reserve some from breeders already, but I'm waiting after my step-father to do the coop.... It's so loooong! I already found the chicken's names, I draw many coop, I already mesures my yard....

So... as soon as we start, I'll put picture and find chicken! :D

They are going to be named:

-Pancake
-Donut
-Muffin
-Cookie (Or Brownie)

Cute name, and there is a concept lol
My boyfriend wanted me to name them names like: Nugget and chicken restaurant's names.

Rhode Island reds can lay 200 eggs a year, and a healthy one can lay even more, and the eggs are a pretty decent size too. (XL)

Haven't read the thread, but want to give my two cents. I had an australorp, It was always the first one to come running when called. It got the same attention as its clutch mates so I see this as a breed indicator because it was a mixed clutch.

Also, they get very sturdy quickly and have the SOFTEST feathers! The kids will really enjoy the way they feel.
