looking for fellow Alberta chicken freaks!

I've been successful with my rhode island reds, easter eggers and leghorns, although they had a small amount of frostbite. Insulated coop with no heat. Overwintered seven birds in Fort St John, BC. Lots of cold weather here! I did convert a heated dog water dish to a chicken waterer and used deep litter in my coop. Hope this helps :)

Hi :)
If anyone in the Edmonton area has room for this handsome guy, he's got to go. I can't winter two roos in my little coop. He is an Brahma easter egger cross.

Hello! Not sure if any of the posters in this thread are still living in Parkland County or not. I've only been in the area for a little over a year...curious if I need to have a permit to set up my coop. Apparently you're supposed to have one for a shed. Thanks in advance!
