hey meta,
if you can't find any chickens here on byc or through other methods another thing you might try is this. go to www.petfinder.com. enter the type of animal you are looking for. i suggest you put in "bird" - then put your zip code in the "location" box and click on "search."
any chickens at shelters or with rescue organizations in your area should come up that way.
sometimes a shelter will waive the adoption fee if chickens have been there for awhile. it's worth a shot!
