Hi! I'm new to BYC and last month my Cochin hatched 4 fertilized eggs. I bought the fertilized eggs locally hoping to add some new egg colors to my egg basket;-). She gave me one green egg, 2 brown eggs and 1 white egg. We are unable to keep roosters here in our area so I need help determining gender on these guys!

I'm pretty certain the white one with the already red comb is a roo but not sure at all about the black one??
Thanks in advance

Welcome to BYC!

Cute chicks! I think you are on the right track...the white bird on the right in the last pic looks like a cockerel and that black one in question is looking a bit cockerelish as well. Not only is the comb reddening, but he does have some thick legs.

But you can also post these pics in our What Breed and Gender section of the forums for more help with sexes....

Enjoy your beautiful flock and welcome to ours!

Thanks twocrows. I thought I had posted under the breed/ gender forum. I was having trouble with my phone freezing up!
I'll repost over there. Just took another few pics this morning of the sweet chicks.

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Congratulations on your successful hatch! X2 what TwoCrows suggested, & the black and the one white do look like cockerels from those pictures.
