Looking for ideas for brooder to reuse in the coop

Hubs and I are expecting 24 eggs at the end of April. I’m planning now what kind of brooder to build, and I have some ideas. But since (ahem...as of now) we are only planning to do this once, I want the brooding pen/cage to be something we can reuse in the coop somehow, possibly to divide into nesting boxes?

Obviously all the eggs likely won’t hatch, but I want the brooder to be large enough in case they do, and ideally off the floor.

I usually just use a big cardboard box. For a lot of chicks, 2 boxes connected together. Connect them lengthwise and cut a square hole in between. They like to roost in the middle.
Heat on one side food and water on the other.
When your done no need to worry about repurposing, or saving and having to store it. Just throw it away or burn it.
You can just keep them in something small at first and then in the coop. Just provide them a heat source till they are feathered out (six weeks?)
Good luck with your hatch!

So I assume hatching eggs and you have an incubator?
Do you already have chickens and a coop?
Dimensions and pics of your coop would help.
You might be able to set something up in the coop...depending on your climate.

Where in this world are you located?
Climate, and time of year, is almost always a factor.
Please add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, (laptop version shown), then it's always there!

I’ll change that, thanks!
Yes to the eggs and incubator. Well, I will have the eggs in a few weeks. No to having a coop currently, we are going to start building that this weekend, which is why I’m looking for a way to work a reusable brooder into it.

But, until I get to updating location (which I honestly thought I did when I signed up) I’m smack in the middle of South Carolina

I'm not sure what you could build, that would be able to be incorporated into your coop. I think it will be a lot easier to use cardboard boxes or even flat cardboard, to construct a brooder. You could put it up on saw horses, so it's up off the floor. Chicks double their size every week. Hopefully you will have your coop done in 4 - 5 weeks so you can move them in.

What kind of coop are you building?
