looking for local breeders in and around maryland

I'm really concerned about buying any living animal from mail order. In addition the cost of shipping is insane to me I would rather spend extra for healthy chickens that I can see where they are coming from, how they are handled etc. Is it just me or what? So I am hoping to find either a couple local breeders with different breeds or one with a wide assortment. I live in Pasadena close to Annapolis. I would like to find someone within an hour or so but certainly willing to travel further!

I will be breeding in the spring but also try homestead gardens it may be late but worth the shot
