Hi all
I am finding there is so much waste with the finely ground chicken food. The only reason I chose this was that it was the only organic feed available. I know I could bind it with a liquid, and I have done it, and will again if I can’t find pellets. It is just so much more work.
Do people find pellets are causing less waste?
Are there any Canadians here who have found pelleted organic layer feed?
Thanks for any advice!

@WaveyCreekChickens I'm from Canada, but I don't use organic layer feed. However, I do know that Purina offers both organic layer pellets and what appears to be a crumble, but I've only ever seen it in farm stores in the states. Other local feed mills may have organic pellets, but the mills around where live only offer crumbles and mashes.

I don't really find a difference between crumbles and pellets for waste, but I do notice that my different breeds of birds waste food in different quantities. My cochins waste almost none of the pellet/crumble mix of feed I offer them, but my ayam cemanis are the most efficient wasters you've ever seen... I swear that all they do it scratch the feeder until all of the pellets come out.

I find that very interesting!
Because of what you said I have started mixiing their feed with whey/milk again.
Thanks for the reply!
