Good evening! My husband and I have been doing some serious research and are considering starting an ostrich farm. We are located in Iowa. Looking for anyone that is willing to offer any words of wisdom. We have been looking for chicks as well. Does anyone know of someone that may have some chicks or breeders for sale?

There was an ostrich cooperative in Iowa at one time. Try a Google search and see if it's still in existence. Those folks would probably be able to point you in the right direction.

First thing I will let you know is that about 90% of what you find online will be pretty dated. Also most ostrich farms were started before internet was a "thing" and social media controlled everyone's lives, so finding them online is very difficult. There is a lot of info you are going to need, you can email me and depending on what you are looking for I should be able to help or point you in the right direction. [email protected]

Also one thing that almost no one mentions and it took me a while to find out is that Canada is a better resource than the US on a lot of things ostrich.
