Looking for other NC chicken owners or like climates!

Looking to see if anyone has any suggestions to use for bedding in the coop and the run? I live in Jacksonville and it’s humid most days which equals moisture. 🥲
We use pine shavings with no issues (we’re in Lincolnton, NC). I like them because they absorb moisture and help break down the poop ... we use the deep bedding method so we don’t have to scoop poop everyday and nothing ever smells. I just turn it everyday, and change the bedding completely every couple of months.

Here in the Sandhills I like pine shavings in the coop and pine straw in the run.

Pine straw is not as absorbent as wood chips, but it's free for the raking on my property, doesn't pack and mat the way straw does, and always dries out on top quickly after rain.

Wood chips of the type you get from a tree-trimming service are terrific for the run -- and often available free if you have space to store a dump-truck load.

Here is my article on Deep Bedding.
