This girl had egg material inside of her a couple years ago, got sick, then improved and didn’t lay again until coming out of her first molt. She seemed normal yesterday, but noticed she was listless this morning when coming out. The poop box confirms she has had an issue over the past 24 hours. It looks like albumen/eggy material to me with a hint of infection and maybe even some organic tissue? I thought about hitting the flock with Corid, but in my experience with coccidiosis, the intestinal lining material is usually mixed in with darker looking runs and blood...notsomuch that albumen looking gunk.

She’s in a box this morning and there was a broken shelless egg next to her. I think it broke after being laid because the yolk was almost fully intact. I’m not 100% sure it was her, but I’m pretty confident it was. I pulled the egg material out, but she’s still in there nesting anyway. If she can keep getting the gunk out I’m hopeful she’ll pull through after maybe a day or so of feeling like crud. I’m not a huge fan of overreacting at the first sign of a reproductive issue. I feel like the birds I give warm baths, antibiotics, and supps to die and the ones I leave alone eventually reset themselves. lol
