What do you want in your birds? Do you want decent egg layers, exhibition birds....
Barnevelders can be found for under $5 each, they are good layers.
If you are looking for exhibition birds then you are going to pony up some serious cash...good show quality cost money.

Ayam Cemani are still quite expensive and they do not lay well at all.
I don't know much about the Deathlayer, but I suspect a bit of hype - at $99 unsexed bird, it would need to lay golden eggs for me

Yeah I knew Ayam Cemani's and deathlayers were expensive. Deathlayers are really good layers, but the main reason I wanted ayam cemanis or deathlayers was because they were pretty. I just wanted to see if anybody had any that they wanted to get rid of. I figured it was worth a shot

I don't know which end of Tennessee you are on, but Blue House Farm in Fletcher NC has Barnevelders for sale and they are on the web. They have silver laced and double laced. Check them out, they may be what you want if you are close enough..
