I had a small flock of Putih Ayam Cemani (white-feathered but with the black skin, black beak, and dark bones of the ultra-rare Ayam Cemani) and a pair of Japanese Onagadori (famous for their long, flowing tail feathers). A raccoon broke in and wiped out nearly everyone. The only survivors were two rare white Cemani hens and my Onagadori cockerel. (His name is Ronin since he is a widower and has no master.) So I just put them together to see what I'd get...
They started laying and hatching in late May and the results are pretty interesting. The gals are all black and the roos hatch wearing a tuxedo pattern. I am in San Antonio, Texas if any one is interested. These roosters look like they are going to have long tails like their daddy. See the young parents below...
