Looking for Russian orloff breeder

I know that Welp hatchery carries Russian Orloff and also a hatchery called Spring Hill Preservation Society. Both are easily found on the Web

Both carry the spangled variety. I wasn't aware that Ideal carried them as well. I'll look into them. Thank you

Welp hatchery has closer to the original of chickens, but very weak. I think it result imbreeding. From 25 chickens I managed to select only 8 hens and 1roo. From Ideal Poultry bird more stronger, but all mix, sorry. From 25 I could not keep nobody.

Did you ever find some good Orloffs? I'm in Minneapolis and in search of orloffs. Preferably other colors than the spangled but I know that there hard to come by, so I'll take whatever I find as long as they lay good.

The Mahogany Orloff Kummer Farms has posted on there web page would make a better "Bearded Buckeye" than a Orloff.

Hi! I know this is an old thread but I just found out that I have a Russian Orloff. It isn't "spangled" its more of a red color. She is currently laying. I also read that she is rare... Does anyone know of any breeders that may be interested in her? I want to help continue the breed! She is just a lawn ornament at my house.. which we do love her but if she served a better purpose somewhere else I would part with her.

This photo doesn't do her justice.

Very pretty Mahogany Russian Orloff! I have RO's but I don't show. Out of 6 chicks and 11 eggs hatched I sold all but 6. I had bought them from another 'chicken person' that I met so all current ones are brothers/sisters. I ordered 5 more from a hatchery for breeding since they are so beautiful. At what age did yours start laying?

She was actually given to me already laying so I have no idea! She is a sweet girl though.I added a couple of better photos of her. lol Wondering if I should get an orloff rooster!

She's pretty. The chicks I hatched were darker than the ones I got recently, almost pastel colored. I'll have to post a pick of my boys cuz they recently started crowing and are now hormonal:) Two of them have a good bit of white in their muffs which I think looks handsome but may not be desired for show. One of the pullets doesn't have a muufs or beard at all so she won't be used for breeding.
