I am looking for some for my daughter to show August 2013. They have to be hatched after Dec. 1, 2012 and we need possession by June 1 although I would rather raise them from chicks or hatch eggs.

She has shown our layer & pet Silkie chickens the last 2 years but since this will probably be her last year showing in 4H I would like to invest a little more this year. If anyone has any or knows of anyone I can contact please let me know.

Thanks!!

Keesmom,

Well, now that we know there are both we were thinking about looking for both Bantam and LF. We are located in Central IL. Do you know of anyone? I contacted Comer and they may have some later in the Spring. I would love to find some earlier if possible because she will show in early August.

First thing, you should check in on the Faverolles thread. It's a LONG one, and here's the link to the last page. Any Fav breeders that visit BYC post there including Leisha Comer.

Secondly, if she wants to show as early as August she may want to look at bantams first. LF take a long time to mature, especially the males, and you wouldn't want to show one any earlier than 9 months old. I know my males take forever to grow out.

Ron and Jonathan Patterson are in IN (I think?). I know they have LF, not sure about bantams. Leisha, as you know, has bantams. Duane Urch maybe? I'm sure there are others that I'm forgetting too, but someone on the Fav thread can give you some names.

Thanks! I already talked to Leisha and I'm going to call her back in May. I did see (I think) Ron Patterson's name in the Poultry press so I can contact him. There was also someone in Edgewood IL in the current Poultry Press I think that I may call.

I'll keep researching. Thanks for the tip on the SF. I would love to have them also but I don't know if she will show in 2014 after she graduates HS. We have to show current year so they would have to be Dec/Jan hatches.

I'll check out the Thread.

Thanks again!
