Looking for some advice! :)

So I went over today to help her clean out her office at the place she works. It went well but I had to leave for a dentist appointment. Then we started texting. She hasn't been feeling well so I have been asking her how she is feeling. One of her pets died so I was talking to her about that and trying to make her feel better. I finally asked her what she thinks of me so far. She said "I like you you're very nice and sweet" but she said she doesn't want to rush into anything because she just got out of a bad relationship in November. I told her that I'm not looking to rush into anything either and let's just be friends and spend the summer getting to know each other because she is a really awesome girl and I'd like to get to know her better. She said she'd like that. I am pretty sure this is a good thing. I am very happy.

Sounds very positive and good for both of you... and you know at least you will have a very good friend who shares common interests... never discount that, friends like those are very hard to find...
Good luck and enjoy your summer! :)

I'm new here and new to chickens. I have read everything I can get my hands on about creating a good space for my girls. I clean the coop almost every day. They are super spoiled. I have noticed over the past few days a few feathers floating around in the coop.I have had my birds for just over a week. They are 17-18 week old black sexlinks. Not time to molt....do chickens lose feathers and it not be due to pecking or mites or molting etc? In other words is it odd to find a few feathers here and there? Thanks!!

Hi and welcome! Usually you should try to start a new thread for questions but hopefully the OP won't mind this one...

First of all, yes it is normal to find a few feathers once in a while, no biggie... second, at that age they probably are going through a molt... chickens actually go through a couple molts before they get their 'adult' feathers... they lose their down in one, and usually have at least one more, but most times the only way you notice is all the feathers laying around... if they are happy and healthy, don't worry about it... welcome to chickenkeeping!! :D

KelliR a good place to ask any other questions would be at the "New members introduction," thread ( in the social forum) Start a new thread there and you will get many responses - and attention will be directly just to you.

Things are looking good guys! We have been having deeper conversations and I am bringing her a homemade lunch tomorrow for lunch at work and I'm going to hang out because my college class was cancelled. I also reached into a cooler at the grocery store yesterday and pulled out a bottle of coke with her name(first try I swear!) on it that I'm planning to give to her. I just got my driver's license yesterday and things are really starting to look great for me! It's weird because I have always been such an advice seeker but for once I am trusting my gut and it is working excellent.
